The rankingsVendor by vendor
Rank 1 · Best overall
PostGrid Address Verification
9.4/10
Best overall address verification API
PostGrid is the only vendor in this set that scores above 9.0 on every single criterion. That consistency, rather than dominance in any one column, is what puts it first. It covers 245+ countries and territories, holds CASS, SERP and NCOA certification, publishes a 99.9% uptime target and a 120 requests-per-minute account rate limit, and carries SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA, PIPEDA, GDPR and PCI-DSS. Very few vendors attempt both the global footprint and the North American certification depth; fewer still publish the operational numbers alongside them.
For developers the path is short. There are documented examples in cURL, Node.js, Python, PHP and Ruby, 500 free lookups without a credit card, and a bulk endpoint that handles up to one million addresses with a stated two-hour processing window. Real-time autocomplete, geocoding and reverse geocoding, ZIP and postal code lookup, delivery point validation and NCOA move-update processing are all part of the same surface rather than separately-sold modules.
It also carries the strongest user signal in the category: 5.0 out of 5 from 178 G2 reviews and 5.0 from 28 on Capterra, the only vendor holding a perfect score on both portals at meaningful sample size. The trade-off is that PostGrid is an address and mail data specialist, not a data-governance platform. If your requirement is a stewardship console, lineage tracking and a match-merge engine spanning customer records beyond addresses, Experian, Informatica, Precisely or SAP will fit better.
- Coverage
- 245+ countries

- Free tier
- 500 lookups
- Uptime
- 99.9%
- G2
- 5.0 / 178 reviews
Strengths
- Only vendor scoring 9.0+ on all six criteria
- Global coverage and full North American certification in one product
- Publishes uptime, rate limits and compliance posture openly
- Highest user rating on both portals at real sample size
- Bulk verification to 1M addresses with a stated SLA window
Limitations
- Not a full master-data-management platform
- 120 req/min default ceiling needs an uplift for very high throughput
- No on-premises deployment option
Rank 2 · Best enterprise governance
Experian Address Validation
9.1/10
Best for regulated, large-scale data governance
Experian scores highest of any vendor on accuracy and certification. It owns reference data outright in several markets rather than licensing it, holds CASS, SERP and AMAS across the US, Canadian and Australian postal systems, and validates across 250 countries and territories in real time at the point of entry. In regulated industries where an auditor will eventually ask where an address came from and when it was last validated, Experian's lineage story is the strongest in the category.
Where it loses ground is access. There is no published price list, no self-serve signup, and no way for an engineer to evaluate the API without entering a sales process. Its G2 presence is also oddly thin for a vendor of its size: the main Address Validation listing carries just three reviews, and Experian maintains six further UK-specific listings in the same category with no reviews at all, which fragments whatever user signal exists.
Strengths
- Owns reference data in several major markets
- 250 countries with CASS, SERP and AMAS certification
- Deepest audit and lineage tooling in the set
- Cloud and on-premises deployment
Limitations
- No published pricing or self-serve trial
- Review presence fragmented across seven G2 listings
- Heavier than most teams need for pure address validation
Rank 3 · Best inside a data platform
Informatica Data Quality
8.9/10
Best when verification is one node in a wider data-quality programme
Informatica delivers address verification as part of Data as a Service, sitting alongside email and phone validation within the same platform that handles cataloguing, integration, MDM and governance. Coverage spans 240+ countries and territories with postal certifications from the major global postal organisations, and the verification step includes parsing, analysis, geocoding and formatting to local postal standards.
The argument for Informatica is almost never about the address API in isolation. It is that you already run Informatica, or intend to, and adding verification inside a pipeline you already govern is easier than attaching a third-party API to the side of it. Judged purely as a standalone address API it would rank lower. Its G2 standing is solid rather than remarkable at 4.3 from 65 reviews, with users citing a difficult learning curve.
Strengths
- Native fit with an existing Informatica data estate
- 240+ countries with major postal certifications
- Address, email and phone validation in one service
- Strongest governance and compliance posture in the set
Limitations
- Poor value as a standalone address API
- No published pricing or accuracy SLA
- Users report a steep learning curve
Rank 4 · Best US and Canada performance
Smarty
8.7/10
Fastest and most transparent for North American workloads
Smarty posts the best developer experience and reliability scores in the whole evaluation. Its SLA states that 99.98% of single-lookup requests respond within 500 milliseconds, standard plans process 25,000 addresses per second, there are open-source SDKs in more than fifteen languages, and pricing is published from $50 per month for 1,000 lookups with a 42-day, 1,000-lookup trial that needs no card. It is also the most-reviewed dedicated verification product in the category, with 339 G2 reviews at 4.6 and 91 Capterra reviews at 4.9.
Two things keep it out of the top three. Its core product is US and Canada, validated against USPS and Canada Post, with international verification sold as a separate product covering 195 countries plus territories. And it does not hold SERP, so Canadian presort discounts need a different path. On a US-weighted rubric Smarty finishes first; on a global one it finishes fourth.
Strengths
- Published latency SLA, unmatched in this set
- SDKs in 15+ languages, excellent documentation
- Transparent published pricing and generous trial
- Up to 55 metadata points including vacancy and RDI
- Largest verified review base in the category
Limitations
- International verification is a separate purchase
- No SERP certification for Canadian presort
- Some users report integration friction
Rank 5 · Best enterprise geo-addressing
Precisely Spectrum Global Addressing
8.6/10
Strongest marriage of address verification and spatial precision
Precisely, formerly Pitney Bowes Software, is the vendor the first edition of this report missed, and it belongs near the top. Spectrum Global Addressing standardises, verifies and validates across 220+ countries and territories, holds USPS CASS Cycle O certification, and assigns a PreciselyID to every address so records can be linked across systems. It ships SDKs for Java, COM, C, .NET and C++ alongside REST, and deploys as SaaS, on-premises, or cloud-native on Kubernetes and Spark. Its Trillium Geolocation product covers similar ground for real-time global validation and geocoding.
What distinguishes it from Experian and Informatica is positional accuracy. Precisely geocodes to specific parcels or structures rather than street centroids, which matters for insurance underwriting, utility routing and any workload where being on the right side of a boundary changes the answer. The cost is the usual enterprise one: no published pricing, a long procurement cycle, and almost no user-review presence, with a single G2 review across its addressing listings.
Strengths
- Parcel and structure level positional accuracy
- CASS Cycle O certified across 220+ countries
- PreciselyID persistent identifier for record linkage
- SDKs in five languages plus REST
- SaaS, on-premises and Kubernetes deployment
Limitations
- No published pricing
- Almost no independent user-review evidence
- Product naming and packaging are hard to navigate
Rank 6 · Best postal reference breadth
Melissa
8.5/10
Widest postal reference data, built on a proprietary engine
Melissa has been in contact data since 1985 and it shows in the reference layer: 240+ countries and territories spanning 233 postal systems, multi-language support with Latin-character transliteration, and a proprietary CASS and SERP certified matching engine rather than a licensed USPS one. Published latency is 30 to 150 milliseconds for a single Latin-character address, and 50 to 500 milliseconds for non-Latin scripts. Real-time and batch processing, geocoding, NCOA and autocomplete are all available. Its G2 standing is strong at 4.5 from 196 reviews.
The weak point is the buying and integration experience. The product surface is broad to the point of being hard to navigate, packaging is confusing, Melissa maintains several overlapping listings across both portals under different product names, and getting from the website to a working API key takes noticeably longer than with Smarty or PostGrid.
Strengths
- 233 postal systems, among the widest genuine coverage
- Proprietary CASS and SERP certified engine
- Published per-request latency ranges
- Non-Latin script transliteration
- Four decades of reference-data operation
Limitations
- Sprawling product catalogue, confusing packaging
- Slower time-to-first-call than the leaders
- Overlapping listings make comparison harder
Rank 7 · Best for SAP estates
SAP Data Services
8.3/10
The right answer only if you already run SAP
SAP Data Services bundles global address cleansing and geocoding into SAP's data integration and quality platform, drawing on licensed postal directories across the major markets. For an organisation whose customer master already lives in SAP, validating addresses inside the same transformation pipeline avoids an entire class of synchronisation problem, and the compliance and governance posture is as strong as anything in this evaluation.
As a standalone address API it is not competitive. There is no self-serve access, no published pricing, no free tier and no public API reference a developer can evaluate. Its G2 rating of 4.0 from 32 reviews reflects a capable but heavyweight tool. Score it high if you run SAP and low if you do not. That gap is wider here than for any other vendor in the table.
Strengths
- Native to SAP data pipelines
- Global postal directory coverage
- Enterprise-grade governance and compliance
- Batch and real-time processing in one platform
Limitations
- Effectively unavailable outside an SAP estate
- No public pricing, free tier or API reference
- Heavy implementation overhead
Rank 8 · Best no-code batch cleansing
WinPure
8.2/10
Best for one-off database cleanup without writing code
WinPure approaches the problem from the data-quality side rather than the API side. It parses and standardises across 250+ countries, supports CASS, DPV, RDI and ZIP+4, appends geocoding metadata, and produces editable before-and-after verification reports. It reports 97% data matching accuracy, and its England Hockey case study claims mailing returns fell from 10% to under 1%. Cyber Essentials certification and an on-premises deployment option matter to buyers who cannot send address data to a third-party cloud. Its flagship Clean & Match product holds 4.7 from 75 G2 reviews.
It ranks eighth because the developer experience is the weakest of the top half. There is a Clean & Match API, but the product is built around a desktop and no-code workflow. Worth noting that WinPure's separate Address Verification listing on G2 carries only 3.5 from two reviews, a reminder that the strong rating attaches to the matching product rather than the address module specifically.
Strengths
- Genuine no-code workflow, fast to first result
- 250+ countries with CASS, DPV, RDI, ZIP+4
- On-premises deployment for sensitive data
- Auditable before-and-after reporting
Limitations
- API is secondary to the desktop product
- Not designed for real-time checkout validation
- Address module reviewed far less favourably than the suite
Rank 9 · Best international match-rate uplift
Loqate
8.0/10
Strongest international data, weakest pricing transparency
On raw coverage Loqate is at the very top: 250 countries and territories, transliteration across eight scripts, premise-level data, and CASS, SERP and AMAS certifications. Its AI parsing claims an average 7% match-rate uplift globally and up to 19% in developing markets, the most specific international accuracy claim any vendor in this set publishes. Capture returns type-ahead results in under 150 milliseconds and there are prebuilt integrations for Shopify Plus, Salesforce, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, commercetools and Microsoft Dynamics.
It finishes ninth almost entirely on one criterion. Pricing is opaque, scored 5.0, the lowest value score of any vendor except Lob. Loqate operates a freemium tier and a no-card trial, but real pricing is quote-only and enterprise-gated. Its G2 rating of 4.4 from 46 reviews is respectable, and "Expensive" is among the most-cited negatives, which corroborates the value score rather than contradicting it.
Strengths
- 250 countries, the widest claimed coverage
- Published 7% to 19% match-rate uplift evidence
- CASS, SERP and AMAS certified
- Cloud, private cloud and Kubernetes on-prem options
- Deep prebuilt e-commerce integrations
Limitations
- Quote-only pricing, lowest transparency score bar one
- Cost is the most-cited user complaint
- Enterprise sales motion slows small-team adoption
Rank 10 · Best US records enrichment
LexisNexis Keep Contact
7.9/10
Finds the address when the customer never told you it changed
Keep Contact solves a different half of the problem from most of this list. Rather than validating an address a customer just typed, it enriches and corrects stale records against LexisNexis's public-records repository using its proprietary LexID linking technology, surfacing current addresses for people who moved without notifying you. For membership organisations, insurers and lenders carrying decades of accumulated customer data, that is often worth more than a faster checkout widget.
It scores tenth because it is narrow and closed. Coverage is US-centric, there is no published pricing, no free tier, and no self-serve API evaluation. Its 4.4 rating rests on seven G2 reviews. Treat it as a complement to a verification API rather than a replacement for one.
Strengths
- Public-records depth unmatched by postal-only vendors
- LexID linking resolves records across identities
- Strong regulatory and compliance posture
Limitations
- US-centric coverage
- No published pricing or free tier
- Complements rather than replaces a verification API
Rank 11 · Best unit economics
Radar
7.8/10
Cheapest at volume, if geocoding is the real requirement
Radar posts one of the two highest value scores in the evaluation. It is free to 100,000 requests per month and $0.50 per 1,000 requests beyond that, which the company positions at 50% to 90% below Google Maps and Mapbox. It is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant, the developer experience is excellent, and the platform bundles forward, reverse and IP geocoding, autocomplete, address validation, routing, matrices and base maps.
The scoring penalty is coverage and certification. Radar's address validation leans on USPS datasets for full US coverage; geocoding reaches 195+ countries but validation outside the US is not equivalent to what the postal-certified vendors offer, and Radar does not hold CASS. It is also not listed in either portal's address verification category, which is a fair signal about how the market classifies it.
Strengths
- 100,000 free requests per month
- $0.50 per 1,000 requests thereafter
- SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant
- A full location platform rather than a validation endpoint
Limitations
- No CASS certification
- Validation strength is US-centric
- Not listed in either portal's verification category
Rank 12 · Best value for North America
Geocodio
7.7/10
Outstanding developer experience at the lowest cost in the set
Geocodio holds the highest value score of any vendor here. It covers the US, Canada, Mexico and the UK with forward and reverse geocoding, address standardisation, correction and completion, plus unusually rich enrichment: Census demographics, congressional and school districts, timezones, and driving-distance calculations. It is SOC 2 Type II audited annually, GDPR compliant, offers on-premises deployment, keeps enterprise data encrypted at rest inside the US, and claims 99.99% uptime across billions of lookups. There is a spreadsheet upload tool for non-developers.
The limits are geographic and regulatory. Four countries is the narrowest coverage of any vendor scoring above 7.0, and Geocodio holds no postal certification, so it cannot support USPS presort discounts. It is a superb choice for North American software that needs accurate, cheap, well-documented address handling, and the wrong choice for international mail compliance.
Strengths
- Best price-to-capability ratio in the evaluation
- SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, on-prem option, US data residency
- 99.99% uptime claim across billions of lookups
- Deep demographic and district enrichment
- No-code spreadsheet tool alongside the API
Limitations
- Only four countries covered
- No CASS or other postal certification
- Pricing requires visiting a separate page
Rank 13 · Best checkout conversion
Woosmap
7.6/10
Built for the address field, not the mailroom
Woosmap optimises for a single measurable outcome: getting a correct address into a checkout form with minimum friction. It offers single-field address capture with building-entrance precision, PAF-grade UK data and rooftop precision globally, drawing on a database of 800 million addresses and points of interest from official providers. It claims up to 35% conversion uplift on mobile checkout, carries a 99.9% enterprise SLA, and ships native SDKs for iOS, Android, Flutter and React Native alongside REST. The free tier is 10,000 requests per month with transparent pay-as-you-go pricing thereafter.
It scores below the postal specialists on accuracy and certification because it holds none, and its GDPR-compliant posture stops short of SOC 2. Woosmap is explicit that it does not use customer data for advertising, which is a meaningful differentiator against the mapping incumbents. Its Capterra rating is 4.7 from 34 reviews; it is absent from G2's category.
Strengths
- 10,000 free requests per month, transparent pricing
- 99.9% enterprise SLA
- Native mobile SDKs for four platforms
- Building-entrance and rooftop precision
- Explicit no-advertising data policy
Limitations
- No postal certifications
- No SOC 2 attestation published
- Conversion-uplift figure is vendor-supplied
Rank 14 · Best UK depth
Data8
7.5/10
The most complete UK address picture, and nothing outside it
Data8's UK dataset is the deepest in this evaluation. Alongside Royal Mail PAF it layers Ordnance Survey AddressBase, 500,000+ Not-Yet-Built records for new construction, and 800,000+ Multiple Residence records for flats and subdivided properties. Those last two matter enormously in practice, because new-build and multi-occupancy addresses are exactly where PAF-only providers fail. PredictiveAddress searches from any address component rather than requiring a postcode, and fuzzy matching handles typos. It holds the joint-highest G2 rating of any UK vendor at 4.9 from 34 reviews.
The coverage score of 4.0 is not a criticism of the product, it is a statement of scope. Data8 is UK-only. On a global rubric that caps it at fourteenth; on a UK-only rubric it would be at or near the top.
Strengths
- PAF plus AddressBase, Not-Yet-Built and Multiple Residence
- Handles new-build and multi-occupancy addresses properly
- Search from any component, not postcode-first
- Joint-highest UK user rating
Limitations
- United Kingdom only
- No published certifications beyond PAF licensing
- Subscription pricing not published
Rank 15 · Best Irish coverage
Autoaddress
7.4/10
Helps run Ireland's national address database, and sells globally on top of it
Autoaddress occupies a position no other vendor here holds: it plays a key role maintaining Ireland's Eircode database, which makes it the authoritative source rather than a licensee in that market. Around that it layers Royal Mail, USPS and TomTom data to reach 250+ countries across three products, Capture for real-time autocomplete, Verify for stored addresses, and Cleanse for enrichment. It is ISO 27001:2022 certified with FSQS accreditation and operates a zero-data-retention policy on its API products, which is a stronger privacy position than most.
Its 4.8 from 30 G2 reviews comes with badges for High Performer, Best Usability, Best Results and Easiest to Do Business With. The trial is 150 validations over 14 days with no card. It ranks fifteenth because outside Ireland it resells the same underlying data everyone else uses, and it publishes no latency or uptime SLA.
Strengths
- Authoritative role in Ireland's Eircode database
- ISO 27001:2022 and FSQS certified
- Zero data retention on API products
- Strong, consistent G2 standing with usability badges
Limitations
- Outside Ireland it resells common datasets
- No published uptime or latency SLA
- No published pricing
Rank 16 · Best UK developer experience
Postcoder
7.3/10
Well-run UK validation suite with unusually good API hygiene
Postcoder bundles address lookup, bank sort-code and account validation, email validation with disposable-domain detection, mobile validation and SMS one-time-password verification behind a single consistent API. It is ISO 9001:2015 and Cyber Essentials certified, holds 4.7 from 61 G2 reviews with 2026 badges for Leader, Easiest to Use, Best Results, Most Implementable, Fastest Implementation and Highest User Adoption, and won a 2024 Devportal Award for Best Served API Business Model. That last one is a fair signal: the developer portal is genuinely good.
Coverage is the constraint. The core strength is the UK with selected other countries, notably France, rather than a global footprint. It publishes no uptime or latency SLA, which costs it on reliability despite no evidence of reliability problems, and "Expensive" appears among its most-cited user criticisms.
Strengths
- ISO 9001:2015 and Cyber Essentials certified
- Award-winning developer portal and documentation
- Address, bank, email, mobile and OTP in one API
- Six 2026 G2 badges across usability and adoption
Limitations
- UK-centric, limited international coverage
- No published uptime or latency SLA
- Cost raised repeatedly in user reviews
Rank 17 · Best French-market option
DQE One
7.2/10
The strongest data-quality platform for French address data
DQE One is a real-time data quality platform that validates, standardises, deduplicates and enriches customer data spanning postal addresses, email and phone. Its centre of gravity is France, where it is a recognised specialist, with international coverage layered on top. It holds 4.8 from 39 G2 reviews, with users citing ease of use, quality of support and CRM integration among the most-mentioned strengths.
It ranks seventeenth largely on evidence availability. DQE publishes comparatively little technical detail in English, its documentation was not reachable during this review, and it states no uptime SLA, no postal certification and no public pricing. Buyers in France or francophone markets should shortlist it and evaluate directly; buyers elsewhere have better-evidenced options at the same score.
Strengths
- Recognised French-market data quality specialist
- Address, email and phone validation in one platform
- Strong G2 standing with praised support
- Real-time deduplication and enrichment
Limitations
- Limited English-language technical documentation
- No published certifications, SLA or pricing
- Coverage outside France not clearly evidenced
Rank 18 · Best UK e-commerce plug-ins
Fetchify
7.1/10
Fastest route to validated checkout on a hosted store platform
Fetchify's strongest argument is that you may not need to write any code at all. It ships more than twenty ready-made platform plugins covering Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Dynamics 365 and Salesforce, plus a developer SDK if you do. Address autocomplete claims 250 countries and territories, UK data comes from Royal Mail PAF updated daily, and bank validation runs against EISCD. The trial is 30 days and 1,000 credits with no card.
Two cautions. Outside the UK the product thins out, and Fetchify publishes no certifications, no SLA and no pricing. More importantly, it holds the lowest G2 rating of any established vendor in this evaluation at 3.9 from 22 reviews. At that sample size the rating carries weight. The plugin breadth is genuine; the satisfaction behind it is middling.
Strengths
- 20+ prebuilt platform plugins, minimal integration work
- Daily Royal Mail PAF updates
- Bank and email validation alongside address
- 1,000 free credits over 30 days
Limitations
- Lowest G2 rating of any established vendor here
- Verification depth drops sharply outside the UK
- No published certifications, SLA or pricing
Rank 19 · Best UK pricing transparency
Ideal Postcodes
7.0/10
The UK option that tells you what it costs
Ideal Postcodes covers UK address validation, postcode lookup, cleansing, phone and email validation, and geocoding with UPRN coordinates and rooftop precision included as standard rather than upsold. Its Address Finder widget handles autofill and fuzzy matching and is built for screen-reader accessibility, which almost no competitor mentions. It is ISO 27001:2022 certified, runs a public status page, and ships more than thirty integrations covering Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zapier and Microsoft Dynamics, plus an Excel add-in for bulk cleansing. The trial is 50 credits over one month with no card.
It ranks nineteenth on scope rather than quality. Coverage is UK-first with international data available but less developed, and its 4.9 G2 rating rests on only four reviews. For a UK team that wants clear pricing, accessible components and a status page they can check, it is a strong and under-recognised choice.
Strengths
- Transparent published pricing, unusual among UK vendors
- UPRN and rooftop geocodes included as standard
- ISO 27001:2022 certified with a public status page
- Accessibility-conscious address component
- 30+ integrations plus an Excel add-in
Limitations
- UK-first, international coverage less developed
- Very small independent review sample
- No published uptime SLA
Rank 20 · Best EU data residency
Byteplant Address Validator
6.9/10
The pick when EU-only data residency is non-negotiable
Byteplant's distinguishing feature is jurisdictional, not technical. It is a German company running servers exclusively in the EU, deleting submitted data within a maximum of fourteen days, and marketing itself under the "IT security made in Germany" label. For organisations where sending address data to US-hosted infrastructure is a compliance problem rather than a preference, that alone can decide the shortlist.
The product itself is competent and unremarkable. It validates against official postal reference data in more than 240 countries, offers fuzzy autocomplete, CSV and Excel bulk validation, duplicate detection and geocoding, with more than sixty integrations and a 100-address free trial. Operating since 2003 with customers including Allianz, Adobe and Toyota. But it publishes no SLA, holds no CASS certification, and its ratings are middling at 4.3 from 23 G2 reviews and 4.5 from 19 on Capterra.
Strengths
- EU-only servers, 14-day maximum data retention
- 240+ countries against official postal data
- Duplicate detection built in
- Operating since 2003 with blue-chip references
Limitations
- No CASS certification for US mail
- No published SLA or SDK inventory
- Middling ratings on both portals
Rank 21 · Best Australia and New Zealand
Addressfinder
6.8/10
The Australasian equivalent of Data8, with better security credentials
Addressfinder is built specifically for Australia and New Zealand on the authoritative local datasets: Australia Post PAF, GNAF, NZ Post and LINZ. It offers autocomplete, verification, bulk verification, email and phone validation, reverse geocoding and points of interest, delivered through a JavaScript widget, API, bulk portal or plugins for WooCommerce, BigCommerce and HubSpot. It is SOC 2 Type 2 certified with SAML SSO, OAuth2 and IP allowlisting, a stronger security posture than most regional specialists manage.
Its published operational claims are the boldest in this evaluation: three billion lookups processed and 99.999% all-time API uptime, with one case study citing validation rates rising from 60% to over 98%. Those are vendor figures. It ranks twenty-first on coverage, two countries, and on the oddity that its G2 listing carries zero reviews while its Capterra listing holds 4.7 from 27.
Strengths
- Authoritative AU and NZ datasets including GNAF and LINZ
- SOC 2 Type 2 with SSO, OAuth2 and IP allowlisting
- 99.999% all-time uptime claim across 3bn lookups
- 30-day trial with no credit card
Limitations
- Two countries only
- No published pricing
- Uptime and accuracy figures are vendor-supplied
Rank 22 · Best if already on Lob
Lob
6.7/10
Good verification, priced and positioned as a direct-mail attachment
Lob's verification product is technically sound. It is CASS certified, covers 240+ global territories, returns USPS deliverability scores and confidence metrics, ZIP+4, carrier route, building type and vacancy flags, and offers autocorrect and autocomplete for web forms. SDK coverage is broad: cURL, TypeScript, Node, Ruby, Python, PHP, Java, Elixir and C#. Customer case studies cite roughly 50% reductions in failed mailings. It is also heavily reviewed, at 4.4 from 281 G2 reviews.
It ranks twenty-second because of positioning, not quality. Lob is a direct-mail automation platform and verification is a feature of it, which is reflected in those reviews: users praise mail tracking and campaign workflow, not address validation. Standalone value scores 4.6, the lowest in the set, because per-lookup economics are unattractive if you are not also buying the mail product, and pricing is not shown on the verification page at all.
Strengths
- CASS certified with USPS deliverability scoring
- Nine-language SDK coverage
- Excellent if bundled with Lob direct mail
- Large, established review base
Limitations
- Weakest standalone value in the evaluation
- No pricing published on the verification page
- Reviews reflect the mail platform, not verification
Rank 23 · Broadest validation suite
Service Objects
6.6/10
Strong credentials, dated packaging, almost no independent evidence
Service Objects has operated since 2001 and carries a genuinely impressive certification list: CASS certified, SOC 2, PCI, GDPR and CCPA/CPRA compliant, with a 99.999% uptime guarantee and 24/7/365 support. Its DOTS suite spans address validation and standardisation, geocoding claiming up to 99.8% accuracy, NCOA for US records, lead scoring, phone intelligence, a 40-step name validation, email verification and fraud and IP checks. That is broader than almost anything else here.
It ranks twenty-third on evidence and accessibility rather than capability. There is no published pricing and no free tier. Its G2 presence is a single review scoring 2.5, which is too small to mean anything but is the only independent signal available. The product surface feels a generation behind the API-first vendors above it. Shortlist it if the certification list matches a procurement checklist; evaluate carefully first.
Strengths
- CASS, SOC 2, PCI, GDPR and CCPA certified
- 99.999% uptime guarantee with 24/7 support
- Broadest contact-validation suite in the evaluation
- Operating since 2001
Limitations
- Effectively no independent review evidence
- No published pricing or free tier
- Dated developer experience relative to peers
Rank 24 · Best licensable dataset
GeoPostcodes
6.5/10
Not an API at all, which is either the point or the problem
GeoPostcodes sells a downloadable global location dataset rather than a verification service. It covers 247 countries and territories with 9.3 million postal codes, 316,000 administrative areas, 4 million cities, 15.9 million coordinates, 880,000 boundary polygons with no gaps or overlaps, 299 languages and 55 years of population estimates. Street-level data reaches 81 countries and house-number precision 51. Delivery is CSV or cloud-to-cloud sync via Snowflake, Azure Data Share or AWS. Customers include Amazon and DB Schenker.
If you want to run validation inside your own infrastructure with no per-call cost and no data leaving your environment, this is the strongest option in the evaluation. If you want an API that returns a verified address, it is not a competitor at all. The developer-experience score of 5.0 reflects that you are integrating a dataset, not calling an endpoint, and the annual licence with quote-based pricing is a poor fit for small teams.
Strengths
- 247 countries with published granularity breakdown
- Runs entirely inside your own infrastructure
- No per-call cost once licensed
- Boundary polygons with no gaps or overlaps
Limitations
- A dataset, not a verification API

AddressZen
6.4/10
Easiest drop-in autocomplete, weakest independent record
AddressZen is the newest vendor here and has clearly optimised for one thing: getting a working address field into a page in minutes. It ships JavaScript and React libraries plus a REST API, claims 240+ countries, 60+ languages and a 750 million address database, and is USPS CASS certified, ISO 27001 certified and advertises 99.99% uptime. It has also gone further than anyone else on AI-tooling integration, with documented setups for Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Lovable, Replit, v0, base44 and Leap.new.
Its accuracy score of 5.2 reflects a thin evidence base: no published case studies, no audited accuracy figures, and marketing positioned mainly against Google Autocomplete rather than against postal-certified competitors. It does now have a G2 listing, and it is not flattering, 3.3 from three reviews, the lowest rating of any scored vendor. Three reviews prove very little, but combined with the absent case studies there is simply less independent corroboration here than for anything above it. For a side project or MVP this is a fast, reasonable choice; for a system where wrong addresses cost money, prefer a longer public record.
Strengths
- Fastest integration path, JS and React libraries
- CASS and ISO 27001 certified, 99.99% uptime claim
- Best AI-coding-tool documentation in the category
- Uses authoritative postal sources, not crowd data
Limitations
- Lowest user rating of any scored vendor
- No published case studies or audited accuracy
- Shortest operating history in the evaluation
- No published pricing
Rank 26 · Long-standing US specialist
SmartSoft AccuMail
6.3/10
Fully CASS certified, narrowly scoped, quietly competent
SmartSoft's AccuMail family is fully CASS certified by the USPS and delivers real-time postal address verification across business systems, databases and applications through REST or SOAP services, with an AccuMail Frameworks product for embedded use. For US-only mailing operations that need certified standardisation and correction at point of entry, it does the job and has done for a long time.
It ranks twenty-sixth because the scope is narrow and the presentation dated. Coverage is the US alone, scoring 3.6, the lowest coverage figure in the evaluation. There is no published pricing, no free tier, no modern SDK inventory, and the combined G2 evidence across its two listings is six reviews. SOAP as a headline protocol tells you roughly which era the product was designed in.
Strengths
- Fully USPS CASS certified
- REST and SOAP, on-premises deployment
- Long operating history in US postal software
Limitations
- United States only, narrowest coverage here
- No published pricing or free tier
- Dated integration surface and minimal review evidence
Rank 27 · Oldest UK addressing vendor
Hopewiser
6.2/10
Deep institutional credibility, almost no public evidence
Hopewiser says it was the first UK company to provide addressing software, and its customer list leans on banks and police forces. It works from Royal Mail PAF plus Ordnance Survey and Companies House data, covers the UK and Australia with international coverage through partners, and offers address validation and lookup, autocomplete, data cleansing, email validation and bank validation. It is GDPR compliant, FSQS certified and an Ordnance Survey Partner, and deploys via cloud API, on-premises on bare metal or private cloud, or as a bureau service.
The on-premises and bureau options are genuinely differentiating for institutions that cannot use a public cloud endpoint. Everything else counts against it here: no published pricing, no SLA, no SDK inventory, a thin and hard-to-navigate public site, and zero reviews on its G2 listing. The developer-experience score of 5.6 is the second-lowest in the evaluation.
Strengths
- Cloud, on-premises and bureau delivery options
- PAF plus Ordnance Survey and Companies House data
- FSQS certified and OS Partner status
- Long-standing institutional customer base
Limitations
- No public pricing, SLA or SDK documentation
- Zero independent review evidence
- Weak developer-facing presentation
Rank 28 · Best published EU pricing
Postcode.eu
6.1/10
The only vendor here publishing a per-country price list
Postcode.eu, from PostcodeNL, covers 14 European countries using official government records such as national cadastres and postal companies. It offers an autocomplete API for checkout, a validate API for batch cleaning, and a Netherlands-specific postcode and house-number lookup. It is ISO 27001:2022 certified, GDPR compliant, EU-hosted, and offers an optional DORA addendum for financial-services buyers at a published price.
Its pricing transparency is unmatched in this evaluation: tiers from €50 to €1,000 annually with per-validation rates published by country, roughly €0.012 to €0.063. Free testing runs six months with capped validations. It ranks twenty-eighth purely on scope and evidence: 14 countries is narrow, it holds no postal certification, its SLA is a paid add-on rather than a standard commitment, and its G2 listing carries no reviews.
Strengths
- Per-country published pricing, unique in this set
- ISO 27001:2022, GDPR, EU-hosted
- Optional DORA addendum for financial services
- Six-month free testing window
Limitations
- 14 countries only
- SLA is a paid add-on
- No postal certifications or review evidence
Rank 29 · Best mobile location validation
Incognia
6.0/10
Validates that someone lives there, not that the address is deliverable
Incognia takes a fundamentally different approach: it uses mobile location behaviour to assess whether a claimed address is plausibly the user's actual address. For fraud prevention, account onboarding and delivery risk in mobile-first businesses, that answers a question no postal database can. It is SOC 2 compliant and holds one of the strongest user ratings in the category at 4.9 from 36 G2 reviews, with integration ease and support quality most cited.
Its accuracy score of 5.0 is not a judgement on how well it works. It reflects that Incognia holds no postal certification and does not attempt postal verification, so on this rubric it is being measured against criteria it was never built to satisfy. If your problem is address fraud rather than address deliverability, rank it far higher than 29 and ignore most of this table.
Strengths
- Answers whether the address is genuinely theirs, rather than whether it is deliverable
- Strong fraud and onboarding use cases
- SOC 2 compliant, excellent user ratings
Limitations
- Not a postal verification product
- Requires a mobile app with location permission
- No postal certifications or published pricing
Rank 30 · Best free matching standard
Placekey
5.8/10
Solves address matching, deliberately does not solve verification
Placekey is a free and open universal identifier for physical places, built on Uber's H3 hexagonal grid, using a "What@Where" format so that data about the same location can be joined across organisations without ambiguity. It integrates with CARTO, Esri and SafeGraph and is accessible through a free REST API. For anyone trying to reconcile the same address across several datasets, it removes a genuinely painful problem.
It finishes last because it is the furthest from the category definition. It assigns identifiers; it does not verify against postal authorities, return deliverability status or support presort discounts. Its accuracy score of 4.0 reflects exactly that. The value score of 8.0 reflects that the core standard is free. Use it alongside a verification API, not instead of one.
Strengths
- Free and open standard
- Solves cross-dataset address matching cleanly
- Integrations with CARTO, Esri and SafeGraph
Limitations
- Does not verify addresses against postal data
- No deliverability status or postal certification
- A complement to, not a substitute for, verification
